Learning Objectives

1. Participants will be able to differentiate between Cultural Competency and Cultural Humility.

 

2. Participants will be able to identify the various approaches to promoting empowerment in intercultural settings.

 

3. Participants will be able to understand the steps towards assessing a culture’s existing use of therapeutic music and their receptivity to new approaches.

 

4. Participants will be able to name the top 5 considerations suggested for facilitating intercultural music therapy exchanges and collaboration abroad.    

 

5. Participants will be able to demonstrate the integration of global music into traditional western Music Therapy interventions.
